I’m not your friend, and I’m not your family. I don’t have some alternative story about you going on in my head when we’re working together. I’m trained to listen, and I’m paid to listen. I have the advantage of not being personally embroiled in your social/family life, so it’s easier for me to see what might be in your blind spot on any particular issue you may have.
